As part of the process changing my nav to non nav 100 I am upgrading the sound system. My sub was blown and frankly incompatible with the new amp so took a stab at upgrading to an 8" driver. I'm not done yet but thought I could post some progress pictures. Retro Sound has a really shallow <2" deep 8" sub that I thought would be a great fit. At first I thought that a couple MDF spacers was the best fit until mocking things up with panel in place and it would stick out way too far.

I dicided to cut up the stock box and modify it to accommodate the larger driver. Test fit and it would still not quite fit.

I needed to clearance the box with some half moon cuts on the top and bottom. Now I need to figure out how to seal the enclosure to fit back in the truck.

So it's not really pretty now. I sealed the edges with silicone that will dry clear. Tomorrow I will put some sound deadening mat upto and just over the metal lip of the driver and it should be ready to install. One thing that I did not mention is that I used the stock harness to wire the driver and used loctite blue on the screw connectors.
