Rust free AZ '79 Toyota Hilux Longbed with 2UZ-FE Swap from a 2001 Tundra 2WD mated to matching Tundra automatic transmission. Using Tundra gauge cluster. B&M shifter. 3" custom Flowmaster exhaust sounds wicked. AC condenser & dryer mounted in bed along with battery. Front brakes fitted from a V6 Toyota Itasca motor home. Rare 5 Lug 8 inch rear end with factory 3.07 gears from an '86 Hilux 2wd. Detroit locker installed since it was a pitiful one wheel wonder without it. Now with Mickey Thompson slicks with rain grooves it hooks up perfect. Zero wheel spin unless you brake torque it. Launches like a steam catapulted jet fighter on a carrier deck. The Grabber green is the original factory color (it was the 70's after all) but has been repainted. Custom hood scoop was made from a 2nd '79 hood -- needed for clearance. Haven't taken it to the track yet but on the streets of Tucson it's a real sleeper. The poor guy next to you at the light just don't know.
the highway a 60 mph roll on is a madman.
