My 79 is having a canopy fitted and the spare tyre needs to come out. I’m still thinking about a swing out at the rear but in the mean time, I would appreciate some advice -
The cruiser will be based in a non off roading environment for the next 7 - 8 months, so risk of shredding a tyre is unlikely. I am thinking of just relying on a very good repair kit to tie me over till I sort a location for the spare tyre.
What are the best kits around, in the unlikely event I get a puncture in a BFG Ko2.
Many thanks.

John

do you still have the stock bed or a flat bed? what do you mean by a canopy? a flat cover of a raised roof cover? if a cap, what we call them here in the US, then why not keep the spare where it is? where is it now?

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I’m having a bush tech canopy and drawer system fitted which will mean the spare tyre (currently mounted behind the cab) will need to be removed). Pic for attention.

Ah.. the only options I see is a swing out tire carrier on the back, put it on the roof rack, or make a mount for on the front bumper. If you have a receiver hitch like we do here in the US you could also fab a swing away carrier that slides into the receiver hitch, but you probably have a typical European style hitch.
