I am looking for a spare rim for my FJ40, but I don't know what size I've got on the other 4 already.

Right now I have a set of michelin 31X10.5XR15 on my wheels. The guy that mounted them said they are not really wide enough to fit the rims properly and they are pretty much streched to the max. I am probably going to go out and buy a new set of BFG 33X12.5XR15's before I put her on the road.

Want to know what type of rim to buy for a matching spare.

Thanks

American Racing sells that wheel i think. Look on 4 wheel parts website
They are fairly cheap

Standard aftermarket white "wagon" wheel. Probably a 15x10 if the tire looks really 'stretched'. If you pull one off, it'll probably be stamped somewhere with a "15x10JJ" or similar.

I guess 15X10 is 2" wider than stock? I thought I could use a 15" 6 bolt rim from a newer Toyota pickup, but it doesn't clear the front caliper. Is that because of offset? Is there a specific offset distance?

the stock rim are 15x5.5 inches.....yes, the newer toyota pickup wheels won't fit because of backspacing. correct me if I'm wrong here, guys, but isn't the proper backspacing 3.5" to fit an FJ40?

From what others have had that worked and didn't, it depends on the wheel and the profile of the inner bead area. Most aftermarket wheels are 3.75" backspacing, which I have used before but the inner wheel weights self-clearance on the TREs.

Generally, 3.5" is safe I believe. The newer Toyota pickups are something like 4" or 4.5" IIRC, so they won't work without a spacer.
