I also ordered some new headlights and loom (p/n 81110-60P70) surprised to hear mr toyota parts man say they are $41.. he sounded just as surprised to see that list price too.. thats gonna take a week or two to come from the mainland but i'd like to replace the wiring and headlights when i get up to the wiring.
I think that is the same kit all the kids here in the US are raving about. I got one for the 40, but have not hooked it up yet...

You're on a roll! Thanks for that part number, might do that myself.

Man.. for $41AUD this looks like an awesome kit. You couldn't DIY it for cheaper with the quality cables, sockets, relays, bulbs and housings.

I also bit the bullet and bought a factory exhaust manifold from a 15bfte directly from toyota, which is coming ex-japan. I'm just not confident that custom low mount exhaust manifold will clear other components. If the turbo I'm looking at doesn't clear the block I'm hoping that is slightly easier to work with (it needs an adapter so maybe modiciation of that would suit). If the custom manifold + turbo doesn't clear the steering intermediate shaft, clutch booster or firewall then thats significantly more work to resolve. So in the end I've opted for a factory setup and crossed my fingers and toes it's the right call.

got steel cut and shaped for the windscreen v2

this side needs more love with a grinder to hug the a piller as its the one thats out the most.

The frame in place.. once the windscreen is in place you shouldn't see it from the outside at all with it coming in about 2/3rds of the black border on the glass in the background.

So are you just gonna glue the windshield in place?
pretty much.. or however the windscreen people do it... sure its not factory but i dont want to have to redo my a pillars, and as far as they say, its the only alternative i have.

one more thing ticked off the list. intercooler, radiator mounts and shroud mods. this windscreen thing is kicking me in the butt.. but ill work through it. might have a stab at some little things and get some wins on the board first though

was late getting into the shed last night but got rear driveshaft in after swapping yokes (3 times cos i did thr wrong end) and rear pinion flanges.. also purchased a turbo from the US too which estimates delivery in about 2wks time. i couldnt get any specs on it but had read heaps on 4bt swaps so hope its going to work.

Been hacking away at a few things in parallel lately.. This is where we're at in the engine bay:

Hard lines for brakes, clutch and vacuum routed and bolted to the firewall.

Here are the hard lines from the front/rear :

The soft lines above end up at these brackets.. clutch slave, and the two brake lines:

Going to need to chop more out of the inner fender as the airbox intake will be similar (I'll fold a small edge and probly line with pinchweld:

Snorkel is on by the top bolt but it is less than ideal. I'll need to do some more massaging with the heat gun..

Any joy on the windscreen?
frame got tacked in yesterday and the windscreen dude is coming out today to eyeball it.

Windscreen guy is happy with whats been done and gave the green light to weld it all in. I'll take a few more mm out the top and bottom so it doesn't extend all the way in to the clear bit of the glass but it should be a goer.
