gday all
N thanks for being one of the crew
In the land down under where kangaroos roam the street
Have owned our 2000 model 78 series diesel since new
Originally set out travel this big brown island n then turned the Rv into my work vehicle
Times change n the troopy has been replaced as a work truck n back to our ever true tuff as guts land cruiser

Be it has sat unused for a period n a problem has arisen
Regular starting n running has been kept up until a few months ago when the big cruiser would not start
On turning the key there's no instrument startup lights lite n the engine cranks though will not fire
On turning key the usual click of prestrart glow is not heard
Am reasonably spanner handy n savy n capable of rebuilding motors boxes trans n more
Where do I start my investigation into remedy my mighty cruiser back into duty n get GTROOP running again
Cheers thanks n appreciation of time n incite to u all
GTROOP

I would look at the fusible links on the + terminal. Check the voltage either side of the link. Sometimes they allow a small amount of current through.
Whereabouts are you?

G'day rosco
North coast nsw
Appreciate your reply mr
It played up one day I went to start it n did the crank but no fire
On n of n attempt to start n out the blue is started
Few weeks later n went to start n it's no click on turn key n no startup lighting icons
Cranks strong n can smell diesel

G'day Oz
Buddy am 20 k north of Coffs Harbour
Have a workshop manual here
Shows trouble shooting n a procedure to diagnose in the electrics
It's the no instrument startup icons lit n no click when the key is turned
Thing will crank all day

I'm thinking relay related perhaps
Will check that disable link today
The audible click that used to be when turning the key to glow was over the passenger side
Maybe up behind the glovebox
The workshop manual doesn't give location of the relays
Cheers GTROOP

Yes Oz
In sandy beach
N by the looks of your cruiser
We know each other
Be last year I purchased the XF wagon of you
Cheers Greg

You can wire the fuel cut solenoid direct to the battery. You should hear it click.
