76 tub vs 81 tub

Just a quick thread here.... Can anyone tell me if there is a difference in bodies between a 76 and an 81 as far as firewall, fuel intake, etc? I found a full tub with very little rust off of a 76 but not sure if it will work for my 81. Quick replies will save me a 4 hour drive tonight. Much appreciated

Totally different tubs in many ways, I would not waste the time with the drive. The 79 and later body mounts are different, tank under the truck as opposed to inside, different bib and bezel, different gauge steel in the tub...

Yes, a real PITA! If you have a spector catalog, or go to their site and look at the body mounts you'll see they're much different from 79-84. It can be done but you have work ahead of you. Steve
