Hello Everyone,

Regrettably, I need to sell my '76 FJ 40. I purchased the vehicle about a year and a half ago. I immediately did a engine and tranny swap. The stock 2F and 4 speed came out and in went a 2000 Camaro SS LS1 Small Block and 4L60E Automatic Tranny. Also, installed Saginaw Power Steering at the same time. Also, installed OME 2.5" Lift Springs, Shackles and Shocks. The vehicle is very beautiful with only a few nicks here and there. I had the interior Rhino-Lined (I have before pictures so you can see that there wasn't any rust). Minor things have been done: new wipers, gaskets, seals, rear side marker lights, etc. It has new (5) 32" BFG All Terrain TKOs on white wagon wheels. The thing runs great. I have put about 150 miles on it and it is unbelievably quick and responsive. I have just realised that I don't have the time, space, energy or money to do what I want with it. I'm in Dallas and could show it to anyone seriously interested. I haven't put it on Ebay yet (last resort). Wanted to sell it to a Cruiserhead preferably. This will also free up some time and money to work on my 80 and get it to where I want it to be. If any interested parties would like pictures, send me an e-mail and I will get them to you.

Jeff

By the way, it is a hardtop and has never had a soft top on it. Forgot to post that. The picture to the left is without the top on it.

Ok, send me some pictures and an idea of the price please.

What transfer case is in it, or as importantly, what spline count on the output shaft of the tranny?

What is your asking price? My wife and I have been looking for a 40 for awhile now. I am down south near Ft. Hood/Killeen.

Still For Sale. Anyone Interested? Just Had A Deal Go Through.

Come to the meeting on the 15th at the Hard 8. Bring the Cruiser. Someone will know someone who wants it....

Man, three weeks too late.... just bought a 74. Prob out of my price range anyway. But I am interested in getting your feedback on installing that LS1 and tranny combo.

Garth I missed the meeting on the 15th. Work. If it's still for sale, I'll bring it in December. If not, I'll bring my 80.

Lulu, as far as feedback on installing the LS1 and tranny combo. It was a royal pain in the butt. As I found out mid-stroke it wasn't anything like a 350 TBI or any of the truck small blocks. If you have about 5 hours I could go in to detail. It turned out very nice but everything on it is different than any other 350. I wouldn't do anything different though. It would be nice to finish it and drive the heck out of it but time and resources prohibit. Send me your e-mail address if you want to discuss the swap.
