That is just crazy amount of wires...

Remember we were powering the whole truck with that harness....so there was a lot of stuff. It took my main guy about 80 hours as I recall to do that harness. 2 full weeks. We still had work to do on it once we got it into the truck.

Wow 80 hours , it's good to be the boss and not a paying customer having things like that done ;)

On my Vera project (Fj45 with 2UZ with LC100 tranny/transfer on streatched 80 Frame) I have a plain jane Tundra harness (no power locks, windows, mirrors, cruise, etc) harness that I am using and it is bad enough to tear apart and figure out.

I would never want to pay to have a harness built. I guess in a way I do pay though....ha.

That would be my first mod: get rid of the s***ty Dana and put a proper rear axle in.

:)

The one question that came up this morning was regarding a crankshaft position sensor, as the carbureted version did not have one. Recall that the sensor is placed at the bottom of the upper oil pan, very front edge. So the question is on the crankshaft, where is the plate that gives the sensor the reading. I recall many more things on the front of my fuel injected crank

Decide to clean the hubs up.... The Venezuela ones were worse than I thought. We compared the 70 series with the 60 series with dial calipers, and they are identical for all the bearing comparisons

The picture does not do it justice, it’s almost half as deep as the thickness of the hub

So were using both of the 60 series hubs and spindles.....

This thing popped out while we were working on taking off the front timing chain cover and head gasket. Any ideas what it came from? First I thought that was the head alignment pin, but it’s much too small

Is this the ECU you are looking for?

Is this the ECU you are looking for?

not sure that I’m really looking for one, but here is the one that’s been recommended for 1FZ with manual transmissions MT... 89666-60111. Reading that post, sounds like those part numbers would work

H15XF is better than H55F,

respectfully disagree ...

Having owned H55F ? H150 and H151I syill feel H55F it's the best tranny ..

Just for clarification, the 60 and 70 hubs are the same?
Also, that D60 is really “s***ty”

In all fairness, I have seen everything this truck has on an old USA truck and worse.

The shade tree mechanic is a universal language.

15yrs ago I used to tear down a lot of old Nissan Patrols (USA version) and I cant even count the times I said, wtf why would you do that!!?? I am still seeing it, last FJ40 I built I said the same thing many times.

Cheers

Yes, it appears from my shade tree operation and a HF digital caliper that they are the same. So I am using a 60 series hub and spindle. I am doing this "because we have a really good set of matched tires on it. These tires are matched perfect and staggered special."
