Vent assemblies

HI,

I'm after these and would be grateful to get them. You'll find them under the dash against the sides of the firewall. There's one one each side of the truck

Parts 50, 51, and 52

Cheers,

John

I stopped by this morning and grabbed some of the additional parts you guys have asked for. Everything was covered with ice and snow this morning! I was able to get the underdash vents with the pull levers and I also pulled the carb and air cleaner. I attempted to grab that back glass, track and all the other good stuff that goes with it but I have no idea how to get it apart. I'll stop back again this week if someone wants to share the secret. Also, someone asked about door hinges. They look like a bit of labor to remove. If not, let me know and I can give it a shot.

Like I said, I was pulling parts off of a trooper (such a great vehicle) when I spotted the pig two vehicles down. Having spent a lot of time in yards looking for and sometimes lucky enough to find parts for my 70 Cutlass and 442 projects I figured I could help some guys out with their projects. Getting harder and harder to find the cool stuff. Btw, lots of 70's full size trucks in the yards around here. Almost never any rust. Lots of toyota pickups (some really old) and subarus too.

Here are some more pics. I'll pm the guys that I got parts for. Sure wish I had one of these pigs, you guys have some cool rigs.

Ryan, you are a fine individual for getting these parts back into circulation and helping out some swine owners in need. That glove box knob is a rare piece to find intact too!

I was the one interested in the hinges. Before you attempt to remove any hinges, check to see the bushing condition by attempting to lift the door, if there is movement there would be no reason to pull. If they are good then the bolts are accessed behind the pillar panels (A and B pillars). The A pillar panels are removed with a cross point screwdriver, and the B pillar panels I believe can be removed once the seat belts are removed. Again, if this is too much trouble don't worry about pulling them.

Thanks
Scott

Ryan, I echo offkilter, thanks for taking the time to get these parts back into the usable pool.

I'm keen and excited by those vents.

Best

John

Hey Ryan, thanks again for all the effort! If not cracked, I will take the rear brake lenses, reverse lenses and round reflectors. Of course if they haven't already been spoken for. Let me know the damage and ship cost for 23225 and I'll PP you the cash.

Forgot, I will also take the carb and air cleaner. Vents if first in line doesn't take them. Thanks, Brian

I forgot, if there happens to be a jack and jack handles I would take those as well. The jack would be under the drivers seat, and the handles would be under the rear seat.

Thanks
Scott

If no one has spoken up for them and you are going back...the rear reflectors and the clear reverse / back lights are something I would want.

At the base of the TG glass channel are a couple of tabs you pull to free the channel and glass. You will want to take the channel as the glass ws may be aged tight and take too much time to remove on site.

I need the latch mech on the front driver side. Need both the star mech on door and the strike plate on the pillar. One ofthe pictures shows it was still there with the door open. Thanks a bunch!

I would like to have the two reflectors and reflector housings on the back if possible. LMK if you get them and i will pay you for your trouble!

Randy

I went back out there last week to get some odds and ends and the 55 was picked over. Most of the parts you guys wanted were gone, hopefully Ryan208 got them. I don't know who Ryan208 is, so no way to find out if he did.
The rear reflectors were still on the truck, one was in decent shape the other has th eouter ring dented and the reflector busted/faded. Reverse lights are gone.
The glass is still in the tailgate but one corner at the top of the glass is chipped off. The tailgate refuses to open becasue the drivers side door latch is frozen. Probably why the outside handle is busted. I was in a hurry so no time to goof around with it.
There wasn't a bottle jack under the seat, nor were there any tools under the rear bench.
I believe the vent assemblies were still there, not positive.
Most of the door hardware is still intact. Not sure if the hinges are any good, but even if they aren't, they can still be repaired. Good for spares. The door latches on the door and the catches on the pillar are still there.
Taillight lens were gone, housings still there.
The blower was still there, but can't be sure if the gasket is any good until the heater is removed.
Carb and intact were gone.
I'm going to attempt to get out there on Friday, hopefully I'll have more time to pull parts. Lets just hope its still in the yard. I'll post back on here and let you all know what I was able to pull.

Thanks Ranger.

I'm still keen on the assemblies.

Best

Hey guys I'm back in town. Headed out for a quick trip that turned into a long trip. No internet either. Anyways, I've pm'ed some of you about the parts I grabbed already and I can get those out the door Monday. I can head back over to grab some other parts on Tuesday if anyone is still interested. Leaving town again in a few but I'll be back Sunday night. Have a great weekend guys.

Ryan

Hope you had a good trip Ryan and thanks of the e-mail! Let me know how I can cover costs.

Cheers,

John

Hey Ryan. Any chance of snagging those headlight retention rings this week? I'm into my bumper build and the finish line is REALLY close!!! Thanks man!
