Does anyone know the correct PTO drive shaft length for a 4 speed? I apparently have a 3 speed shaft and it is too short. I have read it is about 4 inches but a more accurate dimension would be appreciated. Thank you. This is the 3 speed shaft for reference.

Hi Russ, I actually have both versions here in the shop right now. the 4-speed version is 3.5" longer. Which matches up with the length differences of the transmissions. Do you need a machined spacer to cut/lengthen/weld the 3-speed version?

The pile of parts I got with the PTO winches contained a shaft that had been cut with a good u-joint and spline. I will remove the tube from these and manufacture a new 4 spd drive shaft. Based on the measurements of what I have, I ordered a piece of 1" steel tube with 0.095 wall. The 3 speed one I have pictured will be up for sale. Thank you very much for the measurement. That 3.5" is the same length of the shift linkage rod extension I made.
