Nice MOG, I have been toying with the idea of one of these puppies for a while now. What would it take to get high speed axles on it... just a diff swap or a total axle swap all together? This would look great with a Lincoln Pipeliner or two in the bed!

I think mogs are really cool trucks
Portal Axles are really cool too, I would just never have a use for a truck like this

actually all of the parts are available from the dealer and it is nothing more than replacing the gears at the end of the axles in the portal assembies. my brother in law's father used to work on a farm that owned one with a dump bed on it and he claimed to have done the conversion on that truck with hand tools in 8 hours by himself outside. i figure in a garage with proper air tools it would be no problem. there is a guy on the benz forum that sells a high speed axle/ ctis kit fot the truck for 2900. central tire inflation would be wicked.
 
this thing was a beast in all that snow we just had. the pto winch is a beast and it didn't even break a sweat even with my buddies f250 diesel hooked to it. it got stuck in our parking lot at our garage with the trailer on it in the 26 inches, the mog pulled it right out no problem.
 
here's a pic of the trans sticker. all the way to the left is pto, under it is 4wd/ft/rr diff lock, to the top middle, gear shift, top right 3 different gear ranges (low, lower, and you might as well not move at all) and under that forward and reverse selector and towards the middle is high/low or turtle or snail if you go by my translation.

 
It looks like the trans are laid out just like my 404. 1 and two are reversable. then double click over to the right for forward only gears. I got ag tires on mine.. would love a full cab over my fabric top.
Will the truck pull 6th gear all the time or only with a tail wind?
 
man, this thing has the big 5.7l 125hp diesel in it............... it'll pull 6th all the time except when you hit a steep hill, gotta drop back to 5th for that. but in 5th it'll go up anything.
 
Here's the deal, i need to sell this thing. if i dont have a serious offer in 2 weeks it will be going on ebay!!!

PRICE DROP!!! 14k buys it. you cannot find a cleaner diesel 416 mog anywhere near this cheap mostly they are in the 18-20 range. a clean 404 gas mog goes for 10k and they aren't half the truck this is, if a 416 was ford's f550, the 404 would be the ranger, a 4 cylinder ranger....
