I could have sworn the DS and PS seat brackets were equally level last time I compared them flat on the garage floor, but looking at the picture below I see the two seat brackets of different sizes?

Question: do the sliding seat brackets on these years have unequal height?

What passenger side sliding bracket? lol
My 73 has a fixed passenger seat. In any case you have two choices: level em or leave em.
If your not up for relocating the fuel tank then to level you'll have to raise the driver's seat. Kinda tough to tell they are at different heights in use but yo know and it bugs ya (right?).

recommend moving on to bigger issues and enjoy the eccentricities of a classic.

I just removed the seats and brackets from my '76 and there was a difference in the height of the brackets between the driver and pax seat. Your picture was how mine was set-up. Shorter on the driver and taller on the pax.

Something just doesn't look right to me in your pic, but I can't pin it down. I've got a '76 also and I don't remember the way the brackets are situated making them sit unevenly. I'll look tonight and post up tomorrow. BTW, my passenger side does not slide either......

Here's the scoop:

The passenger side seat base DOES sit higher than the driver's side, but the seat back of the passenger side is roughly 1" shorter than the driver's side.

Additionally, when compared at level, the front mounts of the seats are nearly exactly 2" higher than the rear mounts.
