Edit for clarity-Not sure if i'm posting this in the right section posting in 70 series as well.

I've been getting screwed around by a broker the past five days on trying to get a land cruiser shipped from Kent, WA to Sarasota, FL and the quote keeps going up.

Long and short of it, does anyone have suggestions or know transport companies that I can speak to directly and stop dealing with a broker? Would rather have a set fee with the transporter and be done with it.

cheers,
Nigel

Good luck with that ....

You were quoted 30 cents or less a loaded mile

Now you are being told 50 cents or less a loaded mile

Good luck getting a vehicle hauled at either of those prices

So what is the going rate per mile for an "open air" motor carrier?
Just curious......

Real or imaginary ?

Real or imaginary transport ?

The OP related his experience with trying to get a haul
for what he was willing to pay and his results ....

Actual transport - done by actual folks who operate
equipment every day - that is who to ask ....

Normally when a car is shipped to us from back east it runs around $1500. You can always go onto www.uship.com and get your own quotes and set it up through there. We can always get the 70 to our shop and it can be picked up from here if that would be easier.

if anyone needs help getting a vehicle transported give Aaron at summit a call. Very honest and helpful. aaron@summitautotransport.com

My rig left Kent, WA Monday afternoon and arrived Friday morning.

Glad I could get you taken care of Nigel! Let me know if I can help you in the future.
