7 pin mod LX 470 failure

I read all the posts on the 100 series 7 pin mod. I pulled (not cut) the blue / black out of the wiring harness on the transmission relay box. The CDL did not engage when I put it in low which what I wanted. But the CDL would not engage in low or high when I pressed the CDL button. Any suggestion? See pics. I put it back together and it works as normal.

Blue with black tracer= No
Black with blue tracer= Yes

Yep, that was it. I didn't see the small blue trace on the thinner black wire. I pulled that one and it works as described. I've added a photo to show what the wire looks like. Thanks.
