Late last night on a deserted country road, suddenly going from 55mph to <5 mph; check engine light on -- I knew immediately what it was-- limp mode. When I finally got home, I read the MUD posts to see my next step for today. Disconnect battery terminal for 15 minutes. replace. That cleared the code and I started it up. Healed for the moment.
Next, a call to C Dan for the Lever Assy, Throttle 22060 50011. Less than $300 with delivery on Thursday in Maine. Now here's hoping . . . .

BTW my mileage is 155,000. The only warning was a slight deadness where my speed seemed like I had feathered the throttle a tad or foot slipped a little on the pedal. Just momentary slowing and then normal and minute later LIMP. I had two big hills to ascend on limp mode. When forward motion stopped (it had shifted down already) I put it in low range and crept up the hill, turtle speed but moving!

My advice to those who regularly go way off-road in cruisers with hi mileage. Bring a 22060 50011 in the spare parts kit. Steve

In the Sierras last week I got a P1120 code when driving home through the desert. Truck went into limp mode. It was 110 out. I pulled over, read the code with the scan gage, cleared it, stopped the truck for about 5 mins, started it and drove home 400 miles with no issues. I'm ordering a APPS which should hopefully fix the issue. I also cleaned my TB and MAF sensor yesterday.

Limp mode is very scary when you are out in the middle of the desert with high temps!

< $30 for a Bluetooth OBD-II module, and a free app for your smartphone (which everyone has, right?) and your in business to read/clear the codes.

Well, I was half smart. I have a scangage II but it is in the LX. So, I didn't actually read the code before I reset it. I also did not know that I could be back in business just by resetting the code. It was a nice night out anyway. Thanks for your replies.
