I'm looking for some ideas on relocating my trailer connector. I have a 6 pole setup that is corroded after one year. The industry seems to have moved to 7 blade now, so I think it's time to upgrade. The old one also sat below the hitch and would drag coming out of parking lots. I would like to raise it so its level with the hitch. At that height I'm guessing I will have to angle it towards the ball.

Any kits out there? Homemade fab ups? Pics?

Check Etrailer.com. I have a box that straps to the square hitch tube and presents the plug at an angle, just behind the left side of the bumper. The box is the same width as the square tube of the hitch, so it does not hang below at all, and the plug is facing the receiver, so the wires don't hang down at all.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

I welding one up with some scrap 3/16" I had laying around. I left the bottom open to access the wires. The 7 blade hook up is a Hopkins and of course the wiring colors were strange.

Here is the whip.

This little box from eTrailer saved my butt because the whip colors were different from the Hopkins connector that were different than any wiring chart online. I tried to piece together something similar at the Home Depot and I cost $42. Hopefully it will make the whip easier in the future.

I don't have reverse lights on my trailer but I would like to have the vehicle connector fully operational. Does anybody know where I can pick up the reverse lights without cutting a wire or going inside one of the lights?
