I spoke with the seller this morning. Nice guy. I didn't ask about the titles, but Maine does not title vehicles older than 1995, so unlikely.
Wow, I did not know that. What do they use as proof of ownership on older than 95 vehicles?

All 10 of the cruisers need to be saved. Good thing they are not near me or I would make him a bundle offer on all 10 ;). I am a sucker for any cruiser that has been left to die a slow rusty death.

Sad but I cant disagree. I know I'll kick myself if I don't buy it and kick myself less if I do.

It’s a parts truck. Don’t kick yourself too hard. You’d still need to find another one to actually build.

Some of them need to die so the others can survive. Not every cruiser is worth saving.

I never meant save them all to rebuild them all because that would be stupid. I mean saving from the scrapper or becoming totally useless.

Sure, if you do, you will kick yourself less .. Because you will accept the reality... (as I do :) a year ago).
You will get stuck to this rig for many years.. you will have to fix it, or you lost your money.. (Actually you will lost anyway.. this why you here...)
Every removed part with pissed you off.. but you will keep yourself optimistic by reading excellent very helpful people here
(as well as some jackass,.. I apologies to all official jackass, for mention you here :) ).
Finally.. my point here,.. if you want to manufacture FJ45 by yourself (not restoring) this rig for you.
if you want to restore some FJ45 find a better candidate...

Yep. best a parts rig. I see a pile of do-dads (latches, bench seat etc.) I need for the interior of the SWB FJ45 I have sitting next to my shop. ;)

Just buy it, and think about the rust and corrosion as vents, one of a kind. Sick lookin Patiner, and overall sucker-worthy purchase.
I was kinda thinking this. I mean I already have an fj80 with a rusty body. But the frames good. Maybe 45/80?

But the frames good.
With some work, of course

somehow I read this title as @65swb45 Buying opportunity.

Pass. Big time. That's years and years of work, assuming you have all of the metal fab tools and experience needed to fabricate your own panels. If the owner donates it to you and you have some cash, you could buy an aqualu cab, fiberglass hard top, and bed. Then do some meaningful repairs to that frame. I started with an FJ40 in much better shape than that, got into it and found lots of rust... I'm 3 years into a novice restomod, working 1 full day a week on it. I've got about $30k into it and won't get my money out of it anytime soon.

My best advice- don't get romantic- I love FJ45's, but it's easy to get romantic, overpay, and really regret it when you're $20k into a restoration and are looking around your shop at just boxes of parts...

Id go after a price on the hoard. Yes he collects them and then lets them sit and rot by the looks of it.
