'63 FJ40: 31x10.50, will they fit stock setup??

Hello,

I have searched several times over several days without success to find out if 31x10.50-15 sized tires will fit a bone stock FJ40. Now we have the thread I was searching for and let the responses fly. Wheels and keys are stock too.

If they will not fit please specify if it is a height or width issue

I have some well worn 32x11.50x15's on what I think are 8" rims on my 40. I have yet to get into any real rough stuff with them. I do get rubbing on the rear tires in street cornering. The lugs hit the outer fender directly above the tire ( uncut fenders ) and are showing a bit of cutting from the hitting. So far I have not noticed any problem with the front tires. My springs are saggy stock springs.

So---although this is not a definitive answer due to slighly larger tires, you will probably experience some rubbing, just not sure how much.

i had 31 10,50 15s on stock rims no lift,never a rub on street or trail.

I'm running 31x10.5 on 15x7 rim on my stock 40 not rubbing on street or flexing alot off road

I ran 32 X 11.5 with no issue, brand new, unless your springs are flat or a 63 for some reason sits lower than a 71 you should be fine

I run 31x10.5 on stock rims and worn out stock suspension. no rubbing at full flex (granted my stock suspension isn't very flexy)

i have a 1979 fj40 with what i assumed were stock rims. they say 15 * 5&1/2. i dont know the first thing about rims and tire size. but i want to put 33*10.5*15 on. i have a 2.5" lift. will these fit and if so any issues with the fit? thanks to all who respond.

depends on if your cruiser has the "lean" or not. Mine cleared fine until I developed the "lean" to the passenger side. Now it rubs occasionally while cornering on the passenger side rear fender.
