my buddy and brother rented a garage and started a shop ( Defiant 4wd). my buddy got sick too and bought a mercedes 300sd for his sas 4runner and we raced to see would would be done the swap first :D

dont make it sound easy or anything... :flipoff2:

i'd also like to point out while talking about the 4runner you said "we made a custom plate to mate the engine tranny" like you were talking about making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

is there anyway to register it as the 86 model so that it could be imported to the states? since it looks like there are just as many parts out of that vehicle as the 89 you started with.. :hhmm:

thats a sweet rig, wish i could buy it.

i went ahead and googled it for the states. thats $9908.21 USD or roughly 5.99444725 ounces of gold...

Thanks zrheard for the compliments

its a canadian fj62, was also available in the US, so i dont think theres any restriction import that. also still being registered as a gasser might help with import, but i can change the registration to diesel no problem. i dont believe i can change the year of the truck, thought i still have all the VIN plates from the donor vehicle...

as for the mercedes 4runner, we took out the wax crayons to measure with a string(then later a tape) and salvaged 1/4in plate steel and cut it with a torch. sound simple, but its a bit more complex when its in front of you and in your hands. I didnt actually do very much helping with the plate. we had a good time: mercedes & toyota sandwich

ps, only 6 gold coins eh?

another thing to consider: i have a parts 62 and could easily swap the axles(+4.11s) under my truck, but then the 35's dont fit, you loose the 5.29's and the rear locker. it would look like this
