So my 2001 LX470 died yesterday and was close to the local lexus dealership.

They took a look and found that rodent had chewed through the air filter which had then damaged the MAF. They're saying it's going to be $300 in parts and another $300 in labor. This seems like it's a lot for those two parts. Am I missing something?

Also, is remember there were a couple IH8MUD members that could source OEM parts, could someone direct me to them? Thanks for the help.

I just paid $750 for the same parts and labor on my 2008 2500HD Duramax. When I saw the bill I wondered the same thing...

Onur aka Beno here can get you just about anything you need. He's the only one that I've dealt with.

Knowing this can happen for a car parked for a week or two (in the back yard), I keep the hood open over weekends.

are you certain your pricing on effected parts are just the filter and MAF? could the dealer price possibly include other parts such as the filter/intake housing?

Time to replace both is about 5 minutes. The TLC has the easiest air filter to get to and the MAF sensor only has two screws that are very easy to get to as well.

Right after I got my 2002 LX470 I got P0171 and P0174 codes.
Local dealership = 2hr diagnose at $250 labor, suggested if it continues replace MAF.
Purchased a MAF for $40 off Ebay.

Have not had a Check Engine light since, but I do notice that the LTFT's vary a lot
before going back to zero.

Told the dealership I'd have a tow truck pick it up and drop it off at my house. Already ordered the parts for $100 with 2 day shipping.
