60 series Rear axle lubrication, grease or differential fliud?

Help me out here. The book says to applie MP grease to the read axle bearing and seal, it does not say pack the bearing. As there is no seal between the rear differential and the rear axle bearing this reads as if it is a lite application of gease to preserve running surfaces and seal until the differential fliud is splashed about ..

Front axle bearing has a inboard seal and the book clearly states to "Pack the bearing"

OK, what is the word.

Just lite grease . Then the 80/90 takes over. If you have a Aussie or similar locker, use heavier lube, like a 95/110.

thanks, that is good news, now if I could only figure out this noice thing

good to hear, as that is just exactly how I did it back 4 weeks ago. Just got my drive lines back from Wood's and up on jack stands it went for the trail driving of all axles. Sounded like something was knuckling, so I am bit worried and retinking everything. New ARB's unlocked, so I am tinking things through a bit and wondering if i'm tearing back in to the diff's.

Perplexed,
feather.

PS both drive lines have double cordans at the transfer case ends and u-joints at the diff's. So, I don't think it is a miss matched diff to transfer flange angle problem.... thats for the info.
