Ive seen some info before but couldnt track it down. I have a 40 and am looking for rear cv/dbl cardan driveline alternatives.

My rear is flange to flange about 20 inches.

Could someone please measure their stock front cv/dbl cardan shaft flange to flange and tell me the year its in.

Or direct me to the info I may have missed.

Thanks a bunch,

Eric

The double cardan I just took out of my 82BJ60 4SPD was ~23" or so. I can get under there and measure to give you the exact number if need be.

Daryl,

while you're down there could ya measure the rear flange to flange for me too?

I imagine that different drive train combinations, in stock form, and from the early 80s, may have varying front shaft lengths. Standard vs automatic trans, etc.

What would be the most common drive train I would find in North CA that I could get a front shaft from?

"front 23 3/4"- does it look like 3-4 inches could be removed from this shaft?

Thanks,

Eric

Yes.. I put a double cardan behind an H55F and split case. I think he pipe ends up being an inch and a half or something like that. you can ask crushers on here, he has done the swap quite a few times and probably knows the exact length of pipe you need.

Thanks Daryl!

Thanks for the help. Looks like I may pick up an 84 shaft Friday. If all goes well I can shorten it a little and bolt it up.
