Been using 555's for awhile now. They use to come with zerks to give them a pump every now and then. Seems like they stopped putting them on the relay rod ends now? Anyone?

Call me superstitious but it kind of consoled me to pump them every now and then. Never busted a sleeve from over greasing, just two pumps once or twice a year... anyway, personally don't see them lasting as long.

No option to install a zerk without drilling and tapping. Could try the needle trick later on I guess. Zerks are good.

Thanks man!

Genuine track rod ends do not have grease nipples.

A little diverge on aftermarket stuff. Don't get me wrong, I love Mr. Toyoda, but I do believe there is some little upgrades which do make toyota better.
I think 3x finer rear locking nuts are a better design than toyota, aussie engine guard temp gauge is excellent and better. For examples. My 2h use to come factory with an oil spinner later to be discontinued, it was better. Can't see how cast timing cogs can be outdone for longevity.
I think 555 quality is excellent value. Good to know that many mudders do to.

However a pathetic aftermarket internal round wire cv circlip sold on ebay and corresponding vendors as a replacement is the wrong size, 32mm instead of 30mm. It does not fit and cannot, on a toyota axle. Tempting to get it quick and local, $4 bucks each plus $10 shipping within 3 days, positive 5 star reviews. Surely they can't get a round wire circlip wrong?!

On top of that, an aftermarket cv which comes with the circlip, shall not be available separately, so forced to consume the whole kaboodle again if you need that aftermarket cv circlip...

Or if you get an aftermarket alternator, first question should be, 'is the aftermarket regulator available for it?' As nearly all alts have a different reg.

Of course, a toyota cv cannot be outdone for better quality. The things they do without breaking! No question, if you have the time and money go toyota..plenty companies ride on the back of toyota quality.

But the online review systems for aftermarket often allows negative or scrutinizing reviews only after a week or must be moderated first, if it happens at all. So we tend only to get the knee jerk reactions, happy that it came in the mail and all shiny. Which is another form of manipulated deceit to spend money and consume, pretty common practice, nowaday...
