I rattlecanned a cruiser with rustoleum. Came out fairly well but I didn't do the wet sanding etc. That really is an amazing job.

Looks great Hard to believe I'd say the key is hard work.

I did my 40 with rattle cans. It turned out really nice. Can you have Rustoleum make custom colors? I used High Heat Detroit Diesel Alpine Green from Napa. It looks like Seafoam Green. Its an engine paint, but is UV stable and cures well in the sunlight on a hot day.

Once I get the cruiser on the road, I will be painting it again next year after dealing with any rusty spots that show up in the interim.

This looks like something I'd like to shoot with my cheapo paint gun. Im going to learn how to use it while staining my cedar fencing.

Amazing to say the least.. hats off for the hard work on that one..

way too much work..

Mace-

Didn't you try that method? What do you think was bad about the process? I would think all the verticle edges of a 40 would make it a lot harder.

thanks!

Painted my truck over a year ago and it is holding up pretty well. It has flaked off in a few spots that I must not have sanded well enough before the first coat. But it even held up to a nice dent :)

I did try the process. And it was turning out well.. But dam it was time consuming.

I ended up getting a $30 HF HVLP and spraying the truck with white rusteoleum. Turned out great..

1 year later and still looks good..

I spent 3 days on mine, with the help of a friend when it came to the wet sanding.... Didn't get the super smooth finish, but I didn't want to spend a week on it either. Also with supplies, and food to feed my helper the price was a little over $100.

That corvair turned out really well!!

best part of the whole write-up:

"I can say, with confidence, the stripe is worth at least 5-7 rwhp."

looks good, but i am glad i got into cruisers b/c i am goin to rattle can my junk...
