I was wondering what would be involved in a 5 speed manual conversion in a FZJ80 Land Cruiser? I currently own a 97' and would like to install a manual if it is at all possible. I live in Canada so emissions won't be a problem. Besides getting the transmission what other parts will be needed for the installation? What year of LC could i get the transmission from? I believe is the H151F, am i right? Also i would like your opinion on if it is at all possible and if so the difficulty of installing it?

Thanks!!

Do a search (either here or the 80s Cool Group) as I seem to remember that someone has installed a manual transmission.

I'm sure it will cost you a shocking amount of money to do so. Two guys in BC did a gas to diesel swap and I think he said the costs was something like C$16,000.

Welome.

Cheers, Hugh

Alan Podvin did one in an 80. He is off list but some folks in the board know him. There is also a writeup in the last Toyota Trails. Cheers
