Harry do you have updated info on this? We have heard conflicting information.

And how are they closing the 4 side of DV? We could go into the 1st crossing and never touch a meadow. How are they going to enforce this?

If anyone has further information please post up. With gas prices were they are the last thing we want to do is get there and be skunked. :ban:

I'm out whatever.

We are going to a party to celebrate the end of my sisters cancer treatments.

I was at the 4 side of DV yesterday and I did not see any signs that say closed. There were two (2) other campers there. I did not go around to the blue lakes side so I cannot say anything about that side.

Wow!! Great stuff!!
Congrats to her for me!!

Hopefully they got it!

I'm sayin we head up and check it out. Worst case we do the alternate run on Barney Riley as it would be on the way out.

I am in for a trial run. Just reread the FS Q and A and they said they would post trails with a red sign. Final order by the Judge in June. So we might squeek by on this one. Was glad to see they opened up HWY 4. Would be great to see blue lakes open all the way. I know they will open for Memorial day wknd.$$
Any way I agree Kieth, lets get out there. The weather is to nice not to be out enjoying it.:)

Thats great about your sister Dan. Give her our best wishes for a long rich life.

I'm out. Fishing Indian Creek Reservoir that day with the High Sierra Fly Casters.

Please note that the Eldorado National Forest Service portion of that road is CLOSED! (confirmed by calling the Amador Ranger District Office). There is no physical barriers or signage yet (they haven't had access to put them up).

The Stanislaus National Forest portion does appear to be open (could not reach anyone in the Calaveras district office). But this portion is pretty short as I understand it.

That's what I'm sayin!!!
It's still sort of a gray area right now. I've been waiting to run DV for two friggin years. I want on!

Sounds like it might be just you and I???

Either that... We do a different trail altogether.

DAMN!!!!
sent a message to del Albright, and the trail is definitely CLOSED!!

GAWT DAMN!!!!

Sounds good. Can't believe they are jacking our trails:mad: I am going to run that sucker at night if I need to.

A fun trail is gold lake/snake lake run up by Sierraville. Not sure how high it is or what the snow situation would be. I did this trail stock back in 1999. I have heard it is more challenging now. Beautiful country with lots of water.

Anyone have some info on this trail? Snow?

Anyone know if Shawn is planning on runnin??

We could possibly head up and run dead horse back in the highlands.

Sucks that we have to resort to odd little trails just to get a fix, that we can run year around.

What's that day run loop up at fordice??

Anything too crazy, I'd prefer at least 3 of us.

I don't know Shawns plans. It would be better to have 3 or more for harder trails. I think we should save deadhorse for a day when Rusty can go. It was his idea-right? Maybe he wouldn't mind us scoping it out.:)

Fordyce is doable at the lower end probably up to commitee crossing. But you never know what the water level will be there to get out. So it would be in and out which is a pain. Meadow lake and down to commitee is still snowed in from what I gather from posts on pirate. Some guy broke on the con and said from the springs to observation point is still snowed in. To the point is open from the tahoe side. Don't know about the lower part of the trail-but I assume it is open cause the guy that evetually broke made it part of the way. It is still just a little early to go hi even with the lower snowpack this year-ie we h8mud and it tears up the trail in places.

Bronco? Budwieser? Carson river trail which is part of Barney riley trail. I don't know. I have book that shows some trails with promise. Snake lake was one of them and I have been on it--it is a beatiful trail but a bit of travel involed for that kind of trail 3+. It is better for an overnight camping trip with some fishing thrown in.

I can do whatever the club decides. We do have memorial day coming and trails are bound to be opening up with this great weather we are having. Sooo???

Wife is supposed to have the weekend off and we were thinking of an overnight camping trip if you guys want to consider something like that. Kids and the dog would be coming along as well. Would be fun with a group. Just throwing that out there.

Yeah... I probably wouldn't be able to do an overnighter this weekend.
Im kinda looking to do a bit harder run. However, I'd like to see more than mark and I if were gonna do it.
Just a safety thing and mark wheels way faster than i do. :)
