I went off to the Perth 4WD Show agin this year, its comes around so quick:rolleyes:

I mainly went to look at campers that will fit on a 75 series cab chassis and be strong and cheap:D.
I looked these 2 and a couple more but after talking to the owner and manager of Trackadata I thinktht the one .Its the one mounted to the Nissan.
The one on the 75 series takes too long to set up and like the other 3-4 I looked at was still basically tent.
The Trackadata is all welded aluminum and you only have to push the fold up roof and your ready to sleep;)
Price was right too.

Also had a look at the Gearmaster portal axles.
At present they are only available for Nissan Patrol but by the middle of next year there will be a prototype for 70 and 80 series landcruisers
Its not cheap, about $15000 for the complete set up. That includes front and rear axles hub to hub, using your own brake discs/drums
It gives 102mm lift;)
They will be in production by oct 2007 ,so start saving:D.

And a couple more.
There that troopy again . It has 80 series axles but the pumpkin looked odd to me. I wish I had of got a better pic.
Does that steering look ok?

The other troopy was a vehicle used for fundraising for childrens charities.
The pics dont do it justice but it was packed with every conceivable extra for guiding convoys through the outback.
It was cool without being overdone;)

Where could a guy round up one of those troopies with the lift up side panels? That would make an awesome service vehicle or for anyone that wanted easy access to all their crap.

The second one in that trade with Rosco's trademate canopy is even better -IMO

No mistake about the price. Its a complete new housing ,axles and diff I think.
I suppose used units off a mog or volvo would be a lot cheaper, but they a nigh impossible to find in oz.
Thse are also much lighter and I think someone who can wrench would have them on in a day.
And of course thats in AUD which makes it look better in US dollars.

If these are a straight bolt on for 70 then it wont be too hard to make them fit a 40;)

Its not actually a Roscos(although techinically it will be if I own it:D),I asked him but this is all his own design.
Ill have to place an order as a severe skills and labour shortage especially in metal fabrication is causing some businesses to close. If this guy loses his last welder I think its all over.

Kevin ,that is actually what they were built for ,its an ex Telstra phone company service vehicle.
The govt used to pay $20k for this mod (owch) but now they use cab chassis 79 series or F250 with something like those campers on the back for less than half the price.
Some of ones used in remote areas have hot water showers and closets for spare uniforms ;)
