I recently purchased a 1988 FJ-62 and I love it. I am in need of some advice on how to fix the 4wd indicator light. When I put it into 4wd the light does not come on but I know the 4wd is ingaged. What should I do? Your suggestions are greatly appriciated.

If you're engaging 4WD then either the bulb in the 4WD indicator is burnt out, the switch on the transfer case is faulty or the wiring (probably near the TC) is buggered up.

Get in there and take a look! Just as he said, it is one of those three things and I'd bet the wiring is severed. Either way, this is easy to fix. Find the "switch
" on the Transfer Case and check the wiring at the connection. If the connections are in place, check the dash light and connections. If that is in place, check connectivity on the wire using a multimeter, or just replace the wiring with a new section. Easy day.

I just had to re-solder the connections on the TC side. Light works perfectly now.
