I've been researching alternatives for awhile and been emailing the Prado guys since they already had stuff dialed in. I called Slee to see if they would import and what did you know? They had it! But no idea what it would do on a 4Runner...

I am running 10mm trim packers in the rear. Accounting for heavy loaded trips, it's ok if it sits a bit tail-high. I actually think it looks good.

I ordered OME 5mm trim packers for the front but didn't install them yet.

Running it for about a week now and impressions are very good. I really like the ride and the flex offroad is much improved.

coils:
OME MED 884/895
OME HEAVY 885/896
OME XTRA HEAVY 886/897
SLEE 1 15% STIFFER
SLEE 2 10mm taller

shocks:
N140S/N142

Very

Most excellent FirstToy!
The rig looks sweet.

I like too, nicely done. You're ready for Rubicon-sign up for the Wednesday run.

FT,

Awesome! Nice looking - time for bigger Meats:D:D

XREAS I disconnected per factory spec. so the system is still intact. I can put it back later if I want to. The ride is much better with OME tho and I got alot of height.

I'll bite-What is XREAS?

James-you were doing a rear locker-is that in as well?

Your 4R is looking great. We need to see it wheel some more!

Lokking good. Glad to see that there are actualy lifts available for those out there.

The compressor and lines are all installed. I'm finishing some wiring up and then off to get the locker put in, pretty happy about that.

XREAS is cross-linked shocks so opposite ends of the truck are tied together to control body lean. It works well for twisty mountain roads, control hobby-horsing and gives a sporty ride.

Disconnecting the shocks is simple. Just some additional connectors is all.
I left all the other stuff on, b/c it isn't harming anything or in the way and gives the option to use it later if ever need be.

The rains shut down the local OHV until June :( but there are others near-ish to play in :)

I said I would never get a 4th gen, but your rig is changing my mind!

How are your CV boots handling the 3" of front lift? I put 2.5" in the front of my Tundra and the boots started spitting grease almost immediately. It didn't look like you had a diff drop kit on it, based on the CV angle in the pics (although it did not look too bad). Great looking truck!

Thanks! I like mine alot. Gonna like it more once I put that locker in :)

Could go even higher with no CV issues (but you know, other parts need attention the higher you go) At 3" the CV's are about horizontal so it's probably less stress than stock.

Don't need a diff drop on 4th gens and the Tundra front diff is smaller than the 4th gens too.

If you look at the first pic on post #9, that's mine (crooked picture) but the CV's are level.
Here's a better pic of the 4th gen CV's w/ OME lift:

I thought 4runner, Tundra, and Tacoma all shared the same front diff? Please expand on that, as now my interest in a 4th gen has grown even more.

The Tundra, 3rd gen 4Runner and older Tacoma have alot of similarities. 4th gen is different.

The 4th gen has a new 8" front diff (Tundra is 7.5") so that's why no front locker yet from ARB.
Suppossedly this year though; Good Times is clued in on alot of 4th gen custom development.

I would like to put in some uniball a-arms (like Camburgs or Total Chaos) and get another inch of travel (up to 9") and extra beef.

My friend Andries just put in OME 120 on his 4R too, here's a couple pics

Poser ;)

Yeah I'm starting to like mine more everyday as I drive with it more. Hope to get some real duty on them to see how they do, and also measure the flex.
