We took the 80 out to BC this last weekend for it's inaugural wheeling. It did really well for a open stocker. Of course the running boards got bent up. The paint on the fender flares has been fading and has scratches from cruising at the malls.

I have been reading other posts about using bed liner where the flares were and liked the look. Bending up the running boards gave me an excuse to geet-r-done. So went down to walli-world and picked up the Plasti-kote kit, came home, and got busy. If you do this, buy the kit. It comes with the kote, abrasive pad, roller, pan, and paint brush. Here are some before and after pics:

Looks good Jeff! Time for some sliders.

Thgat turned out really good Jeff. You planning on building it on up?...Later?

That was some fast fixing there. Guess i can always go about this route if anything happens to the flares. WHat about the pass. side?

Looks good Jeff. what did you use to tape it? Does the kit have blue tape?

Thank you for the complements.

Yep, the master plan is: 4bt/700R4, 4" lift, Roof Rack, Arb bumpers, JK Rear Bumper, sliders, body armor, Good Stereo. It's going to take a few years to get there.

Blue painters tape. I had to buy a role.

I did the passenger side too, but the pic did not turn out good. I'll shoot another one and post it.

WOW! That looks first rate. Seriously, I really like how that came out and I'm going to keep it in mind for my rig.

More importantly, what does the wife think??

She thinks it's looks cool. If anyone wants to do this, I'll help ya.

What did you use to seal the holes that were used to mount the flares?

Metallic tape works good for covering the the holes.......
