Its finally starting to happen! I think he nailed it! Three coats of base, 2 coats of clear and sanded in-between each.

Looks great Tom. Can't wait to see the finished truck.

Wow, that's going to look fantastic. Are they doing the underbody and all?

The only thing in the under body that needed help got completely replaced and that is the bed, completely cut out and replaced with steel diamond plate. Im not going for a frame off. The original color (white) will remain in the engine compartment.

Looks good. I went with a single stage to try to be more period. I’m not sure I shouldn’t have just done a modern base/clear
I figured 75% of my 40 isn’t period correct and I don’t really care about it being period correct. I just wanted 416 Dune Beige and as durable as possible.

At the crazy market prices right now it’ll still be worth 30k at least.

They have actually come down from a high a couple years ago. Still high, but not as stupid. Yesterday i watched what looked like a perfectly restored to original 40 sell for $22k on Meccum.

The issue seems to be what a perfect restoration is. Seems to be tons of different levels. Is it all correct, every bolt touched at. I know a Proffits 40 is a correct resto and I’m sure they are more than 22k.

Purdy, so no more wheeling the 40? This will truly be a Clint clone! Gotta store it at Carl's.

The wheeling part I’m not sure, maybe once the newness wears off .

Looks sweet!
