I am putting together a 40's only run in May to explore the Arizona strip and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, with some of the FJ40 guys from our local club (RedRock cruiser club of southern Utah). The route has been finalized and it looks to be a very scenic and interesting journey packed with majestic views and historical sites. 250 Miles of continuous dirt roads, and trails in one of the most remote and rugged places left in the west. The Planning thread is here: https://forum.ih8mud.com/ut-red-rock-cruiser-club/665256-fj40s-only-trail-run.html

Nice pictures. That is a route Rodger Mitchell describes (and I have been fortunate to do). I really like toroweap point, (aka tuweep) and pidgeon canyon (on the way to cunnginham mine) fawesome.

You may be able to talk the guys at the Bar 10 dude ranch (if still operating) into taking you up in their helicopter, but bring cash money for the rental time.

Trail run is less than a month away. Several of the 40's dropped out so we have opened it up to any Landcruiser. A couple of 80's and an FJ cruiser have signed on. Working feverishly to complete all the preparation for the journey. Cant wait!
