thanks for the reply dan. you're thinking of the early gasser fuel filter assy that's usually mounted off the back of the battery tray support. the one i need mounts directly to the frame below the passenger door. i'll try to post a pic.

cruiserparts.net has brand new OEM units for 40 series diesels, thats where I bought mine and they still have them. Go to their new parts online catalog under diesel section and you will finf it there
