Dave- any word on this 40? Lane check it out?

Don't leave us all hanging!

That sucks. We'll keep an eye out!

Hey Dave...I found a couple older Cruisers for ya in VT (trying to help someone out) at pretty low (very low) prices...I may even have a whole spare drivetrain (sans engine) from a 77 -78 to go into one of these old girls...shoot me a PM when you have a minute!

PS...I forgot to mention a possible newer windshield frame/glass/wippers, newer seats, roll bar, wheels...

I just looked at and passed on a pretty good deal in Salisbury. 82 FJ40 with an Aqualu tub. No hard top, just a fairly new Bestop. Rear crossmember was rotted in the middle and the rear frame has some scaling. It rode so badly. Every time I hit a bump, my body jolted up, but was instantly and painfully held in place by the seatbelts that would inertia lock. The top of the rear shackle angle was a few degrees past 90, toward the front, so that might explain the rough ride. The guy is asking $8k, I offered $6k, he told me he'd take $7k. I walked. It also was very slow. My 71 is way peppier. I think this one had been sitting. I'll throw up the pics I took tomorrow.

Saw that one on Craig's list yesterday. It looked good but the description was very vague and I had a wierd gut feeling about it. There were no engine pics or interior pics either which is usually a bad sign.

Call him back in 2 weeks and offer him $6K again...he'll take it.

Here are the pics...notice the frame rust and shackle angle.

$6K might be a stretch on that with no hardtop.

I'll be holding a flipping seminar soon.
