86 Toyota 4 Runner 22RE with 250k on the clock. Truck is the same age as me. :grinpimp:

85 solid front axle.
Rears up front, but I think i'll have to find new springs. These look pretty flat....
Chevy 63's for the rear.
Trail Gear high steer
Longfield axles and hub gears
IFS hub bodies from the stock front end are going on the solid front axle with Asin hubs.

Plans are the usual dual cases with the 4.7 in the rear. Just like the Land Cruiser, everything will be built at home. Full cage with a canvas top for the summer days. Plate bumpers front and rear, sliders, etc... Tires are going to be 315/75/16 (35") MTR Kevlars.

Looking good. Should be very capable once you are done.

no... :frown:

I havent touched a thing in 3 weeks. Work and everything else is getting in the way. Ive worked 108 hours in 10 days... typing this from work now!

few more pics...

I will pay for one of those if your selling them. That is just what I have been looking for. They make them for the rear but not the front where you really need it. Let me know. Looks like a good build so far.:cheers:

Ok the pic didn't come out-talkin aboout the front diff cover-very nice.

Looking good. Should be a very solid rig when you are done.

Thanks guys ;)

The axle has Longfields with a Spartan Locker. THe high steer is TG, but I paid $25 for it from a guy who had it lying around in his garage. Brand new! The springs are TG's also and they look good. They came off a tacoma (Poor Boy's).

I think its a great start, and hopefully will be up and running soon. SHould have the steering and all on tomorrow.

What axle gearing did you go with?

Also, before you get into the rocks, remove and re-enforce the gas tank skid plate or you will dent the tank. Trust me.

I'm just sticking with the stock 4.10 gearing for now. The Spartan locker was easy to install, and I need to save money for the armor. The dual case setup should make it crawl nice and low too.

I was planning on making a skid for the gas tank cause youre right, its pretty low compared to the rest of the truck.

The front is sitting on used TG 5" springs with a 6" shackle. Looking at the angle of the shackle and height i'm going to try a 5" shackle and see how that goes. But for the rear I was thinking of the 5" Allpro springs. It says to go with 1" taller spring in the rear for the added weight. Not knowing ride height measurements I'm wodering If I should stick with the 5" or 6" springs.... I'd like to keep this thing lower if I could... So i'm leaning towards the 5" spring in the rear and a different shackle setup in the front like i said.

Opinions?

I used 5" front and rear on mine. By the time you add front and rear bumpers, winch, tire carrier, armor and wheeling abuse, you will loose some height.

Keep that in mind when setting your rear spring perches for the drive-line angles. I had to change mine on the rear after some time had passed.
