Around 370,000km never changed the timing belt, i purchased it at around 350,000km it has been ''well'' maintained from previous owner from what i could tell
It still has toyota red coolant, starter was replaced, new rad, and i would imagine it had a belt at its regular intervole? as it was brought to toyota dealership and maintained there.
while cranking the odd time it would sound like its on the verge of fireing or if i remember correctly it fired once then died im headed there to shoot some eether at it and check for spark

If the timing belt has been replaced it will have a sticker on the timing cover with the date and miles it was replaced at.

yeah, better pull a cover and take a peek, sounds like a very similar senario to when my brothers timing chain on his 22re slipped a few teeth.

It started right up with eether so im replaceing the fuel pump, and filter and when i get the time im going to replace the timing belt and water pump just because.

Don't shoot the fuel pump just yet....has it got power to it?

Do you have a diagnostic box like this in your engine bay? I think you should....

Jump the B+ terminal to the Fp terminal with a paperclip and see if it starts....

If it does the fuel pump isn't the problem it's a wiring issue to the pump.

alright i will try this before i drop my tank tomorrow thanks for the help!

So i finished installing the fuel pump and filter well it started right up, one minor problem i thought i would adress is the splash shield and to find it with ur hand inside the tank before u repeatedly try to put the fuel pump assembly back in lol

2 questions:

a. I take it that test worked?

b. What the hell is that fuel filter?

:flipoff2:

I failed to find the "box" with B+ & Fp terminals, although i did use a paper clip and tried to jump the pump but nothing worked
The filter .... :flipoff2:
