It's in an 06 tundra but they share the same engines so I thought I'd seek help here as well as the tundra specific forums

Any help would be appreciated. The other day I was coming home from NM and tried to pass a truck and when it dropped down into gear to pass it hesitated badly. I was at about a 1/4 tank when this happened and when I was able to recreate the issue yesterday I was also at or about a 1/4 tank of gas. The gas level is the only common denominator I can find. Here is a link to the symptoms I am seeing...

This is a video of normal passing and I have 3/4 tank of gas....

I am at a loss as to what could cause this. I thought bad gas but I filled up with Shell 87 octane and used Seafoam because I had some and it did it again. Anybody ever had this issue and if so what did you find the problem to be?

Thanks!

Forgot to mention that the Check Engine light has not come on....

MAF sensor looks good and I cleaned the throttle body and still had the hesitation

Hard to say but clogged cat, fuel pump, fuel filter...

I am changing the fuel filter and fuel pump tomorrow. Hate to chase it without being 100% positive of what it is but I spend a lot of time in the middle of nowhere with no cell reception. I'll see if it fixes the problem and report back

Wanted to update this thread as the problem is fixed. Replaced the fuel pump assembly today and have had no issues.

My problems started at 1/4 tank of gas and I think that as the tank got lower the pump was getting hot. The tank was spotless as was the pump and filter so it was definitely the pump

I have seen others have this issue and wanted to post my "fix" in case they do a search to try and figure it out

I've never gone pass half full keep the fuel pump "cool" plus I have to pee when I travel and like to check the fluids and keep my windows clean.
