Okay I have an 03 4Runner with the 4.0 V6. It has the A340F 4 speed transmission. Will a transfer case from a 3rd gen 4Runner, also with the A340F bolt up? Looking to get rid of the electronic 4WD. I cant find anything online if the transmission tail shafts are different. Ive posted on T4R but that place is lacking in technical knowledge.

Ive found a ton of info on 95-02 transfer cases, and transfer cases that bolt up to the A750. Which is the 05-09 4Runner. The 03-04 V6 with the A340 seems to be the odd one out.

Yes, I know this is a project. Im up for it, any help would be appreciated, Thanks

I've seen guys with the A750 using FJ T cases on Tacomas and the FJ T Case J shift is the same as the 3rd gen. I've done some cross referencing on parts and alot of everything is much of the same. You'll have to wire up the front diff to actuate when in 4x4.

Appreciate it, Ill probably just go hunt for a T Case at a pull apart and compare them and try and figure it out. I think would bolt up fine, just depends really on drive shaft length, and wiring up the ADD in the front diff... and the cutting a hole in floor part.

Ive seen the FJ Case with the A750, shooting for the same goal here

Worst case scenario, you'll end up using a trans + Tcase out of a 3rd gen and hard wire a switch for the ADD. Since the driveshaft has a sliding yoke, i doubt you'll have a drive shaft issue. Also, Toyota T cases are generally the same size.
