I adjusted my idle up a bit so I can use the brake to slow me down rather than use the clutch to make me move forward. Last trip to bald and the clutch never got hot. Should work better this year.

No I turned around at red lake because I was loaded down with camping gear. I had a ton of stuff since Connor was with me. I had my roof rack packed and the inside packed. I even had a portable toilet and practically the kitchen sink. This made me really, really top heavy. Once I got home, I stretched my wheel base to 100"s so that I would be more stable. Connor was also back at the cabin by then and I had all his sleeping gear and clothes. We were not planning on staying all night and luckily I did turn back since they were stuck at the lake all night.
If I did not have my hard top on and all that camping gear, I would have made red lake. NOw it wouldn't be as much of an issue since I am much more stable. James did the same line I did with his stock wheel base at bald mountain nd he puckered his seat into his neither regions. I cruised right through it nice and stable.

That looks like a pretty fun little trail! I've heard of it before, but have never been. Just watched a few vids on Youtube of it. I'd like to make that run if I can, but I won't know until a little sooner. Is there tent camping or is it just those cabins? I'm afraid by the time I can commit that they will be all taken.
There are tents. There is plenty of room to spit a site with someone. I will be getting a site. IF Dusty's family go he will stay in a hotel. But if they don't he will split a site with me. I am sure by the time you know you will be going or not, someone will have room for your tent.
Cool, I will probably be able to go. I should know for sure after the first of the year.

Play hookie from work Friday if possible or leave Friday evening. Wheel Saturday, two runs...hardcore and mild...you tkae your pick... big club bondfire Sturday night with raffle. Most people do a mild exploring run Sunday morning or a breakfest in town and then leave in the early afternoon.

Slick how'd I get drug into that ? And u didn't cruise right thru. U also ha couple people hanging on the side of ur rig, mine did tip farther than urs

Not putting your rig down in the least. I think it is totally awsome (80s revival) that you did so much work in so little time. You deserve all the high-fives for modifications in the eleast amount of time. I was trying to explain the difference between a stock wheel base and a modified wheel base. I really didn't mean for it to sound like a put down. If it did, I will eat crow since your rig did so well on its first time out.
Trust me, my rig has enough problems of its own and I have had mine for longer.
