I have chance to buy a 3fe engine and planed to install it in 75 fj40. How much work is this to install. Also can I install 2f intake manifold onto 3fe head.

Do a search in this section and you'll get a lot of info about it. A few different guys have documented the process on here.

I'm actually about to do the same thing in my '73 FJ40. My FSM for the '89 FJ62 came in yesterday!

Might be a lot of work for a little more power. 3F-E motors put out 155 hp at 4000 rpm, along with 220 ft lbs at 3000 rpm. While your 2f puts out 135 hp at 3600 rpm, along with 200 ft lbs at 1800 rpm. 20 horse and 20 ft lbs will be noticeable, but sacrificing the low rpm torque of the 2f could be detrimental off road.
