I have a broken stud in the rear manifold on my 62 and am at the point where it must now come off the truck to fix it right. Can I remove just this one manifold and replace it or do I need to pull the intake and everything and replace the gasket? I have read numerous threads about manifolds and stuff here, but does anyone have any helpfull tips on the job?

nothing? I have to get this out of the garage by this weekend, I'm going to go buy all the gaskets today but I'd still like to hear if anyone has any time or knuckle saving tips on the job. Thanks.

I just tore my 3fe down last weekend so I should know the answer. I think you could take the rear exhaust man off by itself, even if the fuel injection, rail and other things need to come off, its not very complicated

I was looking things over more closely today and I think it's going to come down to just taking everything off. My plan is to take a bunch of digital photos of the area so I hook everything back up correctly. From my searching here and in the FSM it appears to be just a bunch of unbolting stuff, I'm just trying to discover any problem areas that I should be prepared for. Should I go straight to Toyota for the gaskets, or is a parts store acceptable?

I've read that the toy gaskets are better and about 3x the $$$. I'm getting ready to rebuild my 3f and think i will get gaskets from toy.

Do yourself a favor and pull the intake its alot of work otherwise.

While the intake is off clean the EGR and the inside of the intake.....those suckers get real dirty;).

What kind of price range should I expect for the gaskets? I've priced the FelPro and the set is about $50.00 Thanks for the tip on the EGR, I'll check it out while I'm in there.
