Unfortunately, the OP hasn't been back since 05/2014. He may not reply.

What are you experiencing and what have you done so we can all go down the path.

Same sort of issue. Petrol 3F on petrol and LPG (carb). When cold starts fine with choke, idles fine with choke. Take off fine and as I try to reduce choke after 2-3 mins will start to hesitate and miss at @ 1500-2000rpm. No power. Revs drop and will cut out. Runs fine when warmed up.

Have recently had carb settings checked and according to the mechanic settings were ‘miles out’ Not sure if I’m knocking the choke closed too early now it’s been tuned or have a vacuum leak somewhere or PCV issue as the OP had.

It won't hurt to change the PCV.

I went back and re-read everything and I stand by all earlier comments.

The only new things I'll add is to check timing and dwell. I think the OP had a Pertronix unit, but don't know on yours.

I recently cleaned and regapped the plugs in my Studebaker, only to have it run worse than before, doing similar to what you're describing. I also changed the points, but not the condenser. I got the points gapped to where I thought they were gapped about right, threw it back together expecting it to run like a top.

It runs horrible. I did not take the time this round to fine tune the points using the tach/dwell meter so that the "system" works together.

Start back at the plugs, check gap and cleanliness, check points for wear/burn, change condenser, check dwell, readjust as necessary.

It's possible with the carb changes that everything it out of whack from working together now and needs to be gone over again, even though some stuff has been addressed.

These are the ones that drive me nuts.

I haven't driven my Stude for three weeks now because I don't feel like fighting it and it's been too damn hot to work on it.

Yeah. Thanks. Has an electronic ignition added ages ago. Planning to have running and look under hood after dark tonight for arcing from HT or other leads. Have ordered PCV. If that doesn’t fix it then it’s off to the mechanic to check for vacuum leak testing. Petrol is fresh from known source, fuel filter changed recently.

I had an aftermarket electronic igntion system give me the $hits. Wire for the sensor inside the dizzy broke and temperature (wire and insulation bend resisitance) and amount of spark advance meant it would intemittenlty drop spark. Ditched it and went back to points = problem solved, voila !
