BJ60 w/235,00kms $1500
***SOLD***

I have a 1984 BJ60 with a strong 3B in it.
It belonged to a local farmer since new and I acquired it from his family when he past away.
The truck was rusted out so I drove it until one of the wheel bearings packed it in and then parked it. The 5speed trans has a rough second gear synchro but is otherwise good.

It has 235,000 original kms and is now missing:

  • exhaust
  • batteries
  • radiator
  • power steering (but HAS manual box)
This truck could possibly be repaired and driven and could easily be heard running.

$1500 FOB Salmon Arm (for the whole truck)or arrangements can be made for engine/trans/transfer removal and shipping at extra cost.

How much of a difference would it make if I had compression and oil pressure numbers for this engine?

What might someone pay if it were driveable?(remember, rusted out)
I need to get rid of this truck but I hate to sell it to the junkyard....

....

It would confirm it is a good engine, but with 235000klms ,a 3B will unlikely be worn out.

....nicest sounding 3B I've ever heard.

Nevertheless, I will post numbers next week when I get my diesel compression tester back. It will need to be done cold as there is no radiator.

No point in a cold test really. It needs to be at, or at least close to, the operating temperature.

Thanks Cruiser Guy, that's kind of what I thought.

I recently saw some cold CT numbers in the diesel forums that made me think it was ok just to get a rough idea.

At least I thought it was better than risking running the engine with no coolant.....

Do that and you may as well toss it!! I'd pick this up myself if I wasn't in Central America right now. I'm not back till June '09.

Shipping...

Dallas,to remove the engine/trans and ship to 22203 will cost you $2450CDN

Possible local deal pending on whole truck......will post soon.

Note; I will not be doing a compression test (or any others) on this truck.
I don't have the time or the right adapter for my compression tester.

Just checking to see if you sold it yet. If you'd being willing to split the trans to Dallasryan I'm interested in just the motor. Maybe we could work out a two way deal.

Let me know,
Norm

How is the frame? Rust out of the photos? how 'bout the back hatch? Could be interesting.

Split deal

Yes, still available.

Yes, I will remove and split the two IF both sell.

Initially, I just wanted the whole truck gone but it's not working.

No, frame and body panels are not worth the re & re.

Would love to part out the rest but need the hulk gone.

I will work on a shipped quote...
