I am selling my rebuilt, turbo-ed 3B.

New rebuild kit, head magnafluxed and decked, new pre-cups, new injectors, new seals and bearings.

Can be heard running, and it sounds sweet.

Compression is 425-430 psi across the board.

Turbo is a Garrett T3 off of a Lebaron mounted to a 13B-T manifold.

Truck is 12 volt.

Engine can be seen and heard running here:

$4000 for the engine.

I spent $3200 on the rebuild, and $1200 on the turbo, so I think the price is pretty fair.

Craig.

I have a BJ74 now. The body of the 70 was pretty bad, and it was never going to be straight, rust free, or leak free.

Over the years I spent all of my efforts redoing the mechanical because the cosmetic was a lost cause.

Would a 3bt be enough power for a troopy? My troopy started out life with a 2h, but somewhere along the way it was converted to a 2f. I'd love to get a diesel back in it, I just don't know anything about them.

I'd say so, but I'm trying to sell it. I'd ask others on this list for a reference, just to cover my ass.

But in short, I believe that it would be great.

Craig.

Would you consider crating the engine/H55/transfer and shipping to the U.S.? I'm looking a for a diesel powerplant to put in my fj60. This looks like exactly what I'm looking for! I'm in Colorado and I'm sure I could arrange the shipping. Anyones thoughts or recommendations welcome.

Hi lumpy 70 would you be interested in selling your turbo seperate. live in
Edmonton could drive down.

Sorry, but the turbo on the rebuilt 3B is what makes this engine. They need to travel together.

I'd say the troopy is roughly the same weight as a 60 series, which were greatly underpowered and happily benefited from a turbo (I've driven a couple).

I'd be interested in just the engine. (My BJ42 already has a turbo kit that I think I can swap over.) Would you be willing to split it up?

Great... all I need is the turbo and manifold

Can we work out a broken pruchase?

I'd say what makes the engine really marketable is the turbo combination with the rebuild.

I don't really want to split them up.

Craig.

OK, well if it's already lined up for a broken purchase (assuming that I can be 100% sure that both will sell) then I'd do that.

$3000 and $1000 sound good?

Craig.

The price is fine...

I would like to talk to you about the turbo before making a commitment. Please call of fwd a number.

The 3B from my 1985 BJ70 is a direct bolt up to a 1982 BJ42 mount wise. The bellhousing is different (and therefore the starter) but both are included with my engine.
