3b fuel adjustment

I'm a diesel NOOB... or maybe just a 3b noob . Anyway is there a way to adjust the fuel flow without adjusting the injection pump/timing on the 3b. I've looked though the OEM manual and have either glossed over it every time or it's not there(most likely the former). If it's in the manual can you point me to the page #. If not let me know or if it's possible. Basically I need to reduce some fuel flow.

I think it is as described on pg. FU-77 dia. FU1525. I haven't done it so if I'm wrong I hope someone will pipe up.

the injection pump controls the dosage, if you want to lean it out, you have to adjust the nut at the back of it. Or you could slap on a turbo or hairdryer.
