Now I know you rock climbers don't like these tyres, but down here they perform great in our muddy conditions. Now I have the oppourtunity for 4 of these tyres at a great price.

Questions are...

1. Anyone have pix of a 60 on these tyres or ones of this size?
2. What backspacing do I need so as they do not stick too far?
3. Do you think I will fit them under 2"spring lift and 2" bodylift?
4. 15x10 rim?

Remember, I do not have a money tree, but I can lengthen shackles for free.

Currently running 33x12.5x15 Kumho 834s and 2" springs, no rubbing. Truck is a HJ61, 5spd,12HT,PTO winch, lockers both ends and other s***e.

those are some really wide tires. Certain states in the USA have laws against tires sticking outside the fenders without flares, not sure about New Zealand laws.

Im not sure about the fitment.

I ran tires that were 14.5" wide on 15x10's without any problems, but I am SOA. Don't know if the 4" you got will do it. The wheels I have are 3 5/8 backspacing, so I had to run a 1/4" wheel spacer on the front. The 14.50's stuck out a little, but not bad. I'll try and dig up a pic.

I doubt it with only 4" of lift most 35x12.5 wide rub some.

If you sre worrying about them sticking out too far then I say wait on a set 12" wide. And dont forget your gearing will be way off as well. Including all the other things you have to worry about when you get up to a size that large. (Birfs!)

I want to stay with the 4:11 diffs, stytick out aint a problem as these will be trail tyres only, I can use flexible flares should I need to. Birfs/CV's are not too much of a problem as the conditions are usually too slippery to stand on. Many other guys in the club are running 35" tyres on 60 diffs and v8's. Yes all these guys carry spare CV's.
I realise that I will have more chance of stuffing a 35x12.5 than a 15.5. There are allready lots of these tyres running. Mostly claws, Kumho 833's, centipedes or grabbers. I guess the question is whether or not it is worth pursuing these tyres.
Note: It will look pretty mean with 35x15.5's on it.

I run Q78 swampers on a hj60 with 2 inch spring lift and 2 inch body lift and 50 mm extended rear shackles and 25 mm front. Q78's are almost 36x11.50 and the rub every where!!!!!
They're on 25 mm offset rims. They hit the springs on lock. The front inner of the the front wheel arch on flex. The rear body mount and wheel arch on flex. Extending shackles makes them rub worse because the axles move further. 15.5 are going to need some hell offset not to rub and then they not gunna fit up in the rear wheel arch on flex.. But hell if you really want them and you've got an angle grinder and welder...................................

i have these in a 35/13.5/15 on my 60 with 2" springs rears only and 2" body and they fit fine only rub on front on large decents or huge bumps but once i get the spirngs in the front it will be fine

Thanks guys, I think I will fit em and flex it and then see what happens. I reckon there will be rub as you all say.

i hear that the baja claws run small. so you might be ok.

but dont quote me on that.
