Hi There

Was looking at used LC 200.
Saw a white LC 200 with 2.5" OME lift and 35" on e bay with stick R&P ratio.

- Wouldn t regraring be needed at 35" ? Especially if i have uphills where i am .

- Gas consumption ?

- Road comfort and handling with 35" BFG AT KO ?

Pls advise

Jay

I know we drive two different animals (FJ62) but I regeared to 4.88's from the 4.11's. Gas mileage for 62's blow anyway but with the 35's it gets worse. I average 9mpg but like I said two totally different LC's.

You'd probably want to re-gear but it's not required. The LC has lots of power so on flat land you might not notice much. In the mountains or crawling you'd want to step up to at least 4.30s to get back to stock

From Gear Ratio Calculator

It becomes even less of an issue if we base the calculations on the Toyota-recommended stock tire size for the Rock Warrior wheels:

Same answer, different reference.

I considered that it used the 285/60R18 since that's the factory stock tire.

I have 35's and re-geared from 3.909 to 4.3 and while I didn't need it for the power, it's made ratio's for towing and off road much better and back to standard. I thought you guys in the US only get petrol models, which in Australia the 4.7 motor has a 4.1 ratio and the 4.6 motor has 4.3 ratio. Does the model there have the smaller motors or just that lovely 5.7?

The big motor with 3.90 gears is stock over here. I too switched over to the 4.30 ratio, but have 33" tires and plenty of long hills to climb in addition to off-road. OP, the engine will pull the 35" tires with stock gears, but things will be much nicer with at least the 4.30. 4.88 is also available.

Yep, off-road is where it helps, especially down the steep tracks. I ran it with 33's last week to tow my 20' van and it absolutely smashed it up the hills. The petrol (gas) motor here only got the 6 speed when it went to the smaller 4.6lt motor. My TD with a chip and exhaust has 395 Hp & 840 lb-ft (if my app has done the conversion right) with most of the torque available from around 1600rpm, so no worries turning bigger tyres ;-)

Do you guys run a TC lock-up switch? I've also got a replacement valve body that gives higher clamping pressures with crisper gear changes.

Good point, Output.

I have not bothered with the TQ lock up as it won't benefit most of the miles my 200 covers. Same for the valve body. I do see a need for it at the level of power you run. Toyota increased the line pressure on the Supercharged Tundra ECU flash.
