hi all,
I already did a search and couldnt come up with exactly what i wanted so here goes....another tire fitment question

i already have ball joint spacers on my truck, with very mild t-bar crank. (i can still fit two fingers between the upper a-arm and factory height bumpstop at ride height). and what appears to be an AAL in the back that i got when i bought it.

the 33x10.50 bfg all terrain actually measures 32.7" in diameter.

Would they clear everything in the front wheel well, when mounted on stock alloy wheels? what about turned and flexed?
i really dont want to hack anything up in there since every panel is original on the truck.

anybody running this setup? having rub issues??

They should fit OK with your ball joint spacers. I ran a similar setup on a '94 4Runner and an '87 pickup with very little rubbing.

I have 33x10.50 km2s on my 4Runner and all i had to do was trim the pinch weld... you'll be fine.

.....can you define very little rubbing? on normal turns, or only when turned and flexed?

what did you do for the little factory inner fender plastic piece? cut it or leave it?

both of you guys are running them on the factory x pattern aluminum wheels too?

I had 33x10.50's on my old '87 pickup with IFS with no lift. Never had a problem with the rear but my front would rub pretty good on the frame while in a full lock turn during on-road conditions. I don't think I had the stock wheels, but I can't remember. I wheeled it a fair amount and never had any issues with the tires catching the fenders or wheel wells except maybe in the very back.

I have 1.5" ball joint spacers and cranked T-bars with a couple extra leafs in the rear. I still need a slightly longer shackle for the rear but it sits pretty level.

I run 33x12.5x15 mud tires on mine (actually 32.5" or so) They are not stock rims, less back spacing than stock and they fit fine. The passenger side rubbed a little, mostly when backing down the driveway and turning hard at the same time. I trimmed the pinch weld a little and trimmed the bottom fender back 1" or so, but you probably won't have to do that with a 10.5 tire.

I would say trim the lower 6-8" of the pinch weld back and you should be good. I don't have the plastic inner fender in right now but when I put them back in they should not interfere.

A tip. If you are using the 1.5" BJ spacers and stock length shocks still your front shocks are limiting your lift. Put some washers or spacers in them to get more lift or get longer shocks.

They would rub a little at full stuff and full steering lock. Nothing to bad, just a little. I had stock rims on both setups at one time or another. I even ran 34" swampers on some 7" wheels with stock backspacing and no big issues on the '87 pickup. You can get away with alot if the tires are skinny.

If you're really squimish about a little tire rubbing just stick with 31s.

thanks guys!
i am fine with running 31's but, since i just got a hold of set of axles regeared to 4.88 and my tires are pretty bald, i thought it would be a good upgrade.

so it sounds like i shouldnt have any problems at all.
i agree, the skinny tire and the stock rim helps out alot with stuffing tall rubber in there.

Thanks for the info guys.

Its a pretty good set up you will have. Just make sure you get enough lift in the rear to level it out and make sure you have long enough shocks for your lift.

4:88's are a perfect match for the 33's and put your power and spedo back to normal / stock. If you want to wheel it now is a good time to put in any lockers or limited slip differentials when you re-gear so you are only doing that job once.

You can also do a 1" body pretty easy if you end up needing more lift for some reason.

Good luck and have fun.
