Three enthusiastic YT Members, Dennis in his FJ, Julian in his Maine 80, Larry in his finally locked 40 and Julian's girlfriend (he even let her drive some!), set out in the morning of 10/30 for a pre-Halloween adventure in the woods of Central NH. Our run encompassed Weare, Deering, Henniker and Hillsboro. Mostly fully legal Class VI roads. Some exploring where none of us had been and some familiar areas. Our biggest challenges were running south on Craney Hill Pond Rd (which runs up the mountain alongside the trails on the Pat's Peak Ski Area), running north on Colby Hill Rd where we gained 500' over a very short span, and exiting one trail through the backyard of descendants from the movie Deliverance - please forgive us for not stopping to take more pictures in that area.
Here are my pictures from the run. I expect my trip compadres will post theirs up in the near future for all to enjoy.
I hope Halloween weekend can become an annual event that more will enjoy. It doesn't matter if it is similar to Lane's hardcore run in Swanzey on 10/31 (or something less in SW NH) or elsewhere in New England like ours today. It's always nice to get together with fellow club members and Toy owners.
See you in 2011!
Larry
